We like arty hangouts, one of the newest is the ever changing and growing Bankside Gallery Hull.
This open-air legal art gallery has been created on the walls in and around the industrial Bankside area to form the street-art quarter.
When Banksy made his mark in Hull on the old Scott Street bridge, the city’s former industrial heart, attracted people from across the city hoping to get a glimpse with the world-famous artist’s latest work.
The attention on the area and the urban art resulted in the formation of a group of individuals who created ‘Bankside Gallery’. The group saw the area as a collection of ‘blank canvases,’ and promoted the space to local artists, for them to transform into vibrant, exciting pieces of art. The area has become a hive of activity and has provided an opportunity for local artists work to be visible to a large public audience.
